Consume is an umbrella process for all the main workflows that deliver business solutions as part of a project. This means that it covers business alignment, business architecture, technical architecture integration, solution delivery, and solution rollout.
Business alignment ensures that the intended IT solution meets the needs of the business by providing a formalized view of the requirements for a solution; this is known as the domain model. Communication remains the key to this more formal view, so it is still expressed in concepts that are meaningful to the end-user, e.g. business process models. Based on this view, the boundary of the IT solution is identified and the system requirements are defined.
