VIDEO PROCESSING CIRCUITS
The areas covered by this chapter account for a fair percentage of the content of a satellite receiver. They contain some exacting techniques and processes that could theoretically lead to quite a few nasty faults. In practice, video circuits are very reliable and perhaps the single most common failure is loss of vision. Please remember that many vision faults are caused by power supply problems and so check supplies with an oscilloscope before getting too deeply involved in this area. The area considered extends from the video demodulator through de-emphasis and filtering, energy dispersal clamping and video routing and switching.
