PREPRODUCTION PLANNING

During preproduction, the gaffer, rigging gaffer, and/or best boy meet with the DP and scout locations and sets, with the primary objective of compiling equipment lists and estimating manpower. Everything that will be needed to light the sets and locations needs to be set down on paper so that equipment vendors may prepare price quotes.
