Many of us have experienced a rough life and followed self-sabotaging behaviors because it was all we knew growing up. All of that stressful commotion was not pleasant but was familiar and seemingly normal. These experiences can include destructive words we receive and accept, abusive treatment from those closest to us, staying in an unhealthy home or job, or associating with negative and toxic friendships.
