For me, mixed-media art is all about playfulness. It’s an opportunity to have fun, make a mess, experiment with what art supplies do, and embrace the unexpected. It’s more like playing with toys than working with tools! (So I couldn’t call it a “tool box,” right?)

Choosing a Limited Color Palette

Creating is always easier when you aren’t overwhelmed with color choices and you know where to begin. I like to choose a limited color palette at the beginning to get myself excited about what I will create. Then I have all the paints I am using at the ready, and whatever I make has a cohesive color scheme.
