The Art Paper Obsession

One thing was a constant at every Girls’ ARTisan Camp I ran: making what I call “art papers,” or your own personally created collage paper. The girls at camp would splatter, spray and sponge-paint through stencils, scrape paint onto paper, smoosh their hands in paint and put their handprints on paper, fling around watercolor, and of course, add glitter to these papers. Then we’d create projects out of them. The projects would all have each artist’s individual touch because she made the papers that were used to create it.

The trick is not to fall in love with your art papers!
