In Sydney, Australia, Dana Bergstrom knew she wanted to be scientist when she was five years old. After school, she’d climb trees and create miniature African landscapes populated with plastic lions and elephants. Sometimes, Dana’s mom took her and her sister to Manly Beach to explore tide pools. Dana also loved pouring over the photographs in National Geographic and an atlas of the world, which contained drawings of plants, minerals, and dinosaurs.
