It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Getting the Best Results When Going in Really Close
Photographing small items can be a real challenge. You need to get in close to capture all the details, which can be tough without a special lens. You need to keep the camera steady, because even the smallest movement can cause blurring. Even the act of pressing the shutter release button can cause tiny vibrations to impact the sharpness of the image. Using a tripod and the self-timer will help you capture the sharpest images.
