So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Okay, you're a little tired of reading the script. Who could blame you? So it's time to get out and stretch your legs. And ride around in a compact car with five other people, all over town, to neighborhoods you wouldn't go to on a bet, on either the hottest or coldest day of the year. And it's raining. This is what's known as location scouting.
Nonetheless, you have an idea of the kinds of settings you need for your story. Like so many movies, you're going to try to shoot on “practical” locations. Don't be misled. Practical doesn't mean that the locations work or that it makes sense to be there. The term is meant to differentiate already existing places from stages and sets.
