Using Classic Applications
After you start the Classic environment with Mac OS 9, you can use applications as if you were actually in Mac OS 9. In fact, Mac OS 9 applications actually launch faster in Classic than they do on a pure Mac OS 9 system. However, not all applications work in Classic mode; you might get an alert message when you launch it. If an application fails, turn off the virus protection in the Control Panel for Mac OS 9, and then try again. When you start a Mac OS 9 application, the Classic environment starts, and the Classic application icon appears in the Dock, just like Mac OS X ones.
