Setting Up an AirPort Connection

If you have an AirPort card on your computer and are within range of a wireless base station, such as a router or network hub, you can set up and use an AirPort connection to access the Internet. AirPort is Apple's 802.11b-based wireless networking device that enables you to connect to the Internet without using network wires or phone lines. Setting up an AirPort connection is similar to setting up an ethernet connection. AirPort networks are identified by a network name. You can join a specific network or select one of the detected AirPort networks.
