YOU ARE OUT OF TIME
“There is never enough time!”
Well, for once we almost agree on something. It does seem that there is never enough time. And it seems there is less time every day. I am a victim of this one just like you. I need more time. I want more time. There is too much to do and just not enough time to get it all done.
What to do, what to do? I know! Go to a time management seminar. Or buy an organizer and carry it with you all the time so you can plot and plan every moment of every day. Or synch your online calendar with your smartphone! Those things will surely work and you'll have more time. Yeah, right!
TIME MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE
Saying that always upsets my friends who teach time management. It was even called the reason no one should buy this book in one of the reviews of the earlier edition of this book. Good. I'm glad it upsets folks, because I am right and all of them are dead wrong. People are wrong for attempting to teach you how to manage your time. Time cannot be managed. Stop trying. It will only frustrate you. Forget about having the time or not having the time. There is nothing you can do to get more of it anyway, so give it up. Different approach, huh?
Instead of focusing on how much time you have, or don't have, give up focusing on time completely. Instead, begin to focus on priorities instead of time. The problem is never a lack of time; the problem is poorly defined priorities. When you have established the most important thing in the ...
