Wavenumber Sensor Systems

By the title “wavenumber sensor systems,” we mean a sensor system with an array of sensors that measure both the amplitude and the relative phase of sinusoid waves in space. This applies to radar, sonar, and seismic sensing in general. A wavenumber is a spatial representation of a propagating sinusoidal wave. It is generally referred to in the electromagnetic, vibration, and acoustics community with the symbol k = ω/c, where ω is the radian frequency and c is the wave propagation speed in m/s, or k = 2π/λ, where λ is the wavelength in meters.
