In less than three years, Microsoft has released four desktop releases, each packing a payload of hundreds of features in response to customer feedback. Silverlight is now deployed on somewhere approaching two-thirds of all Internet-connected PCs,1 and it’s the primary platform for general-purpose development on the new Windows Phone 7.
