Forget all the rules you ever learned about graphic design: including the ones in this book by Bob Gill (Watson-Guptill Publications, 1981) is an inspiring book about how to discover simplicity. Gill shows that the key to great design is understanding and expressing the problem in the right way. It’s out of print now but is still available in second-hand book stores and is worth tracking down.
