Evolutionary methods and their application to textile technology

Abstract:
Evolutionary algorithms are a powerful tool for solving optimization problems. the method is robust and can solve problems for a wide range of applications. it is especially useful for tackling problems that are impossible or hard to solve using other techniques. evolutionary algorithms try to mimic the biological principles of reproduction and selection. this chapter gives an overview of the various methods and concludes with selected examples of successful applications of evolutionary methods to solve textile-related problems.
