This simple exercise will help loosen up your approach to sketching, heighten your observational skills and provide a positive place to practice critique skills. This is not a how-to-draw exercise, though it may result in improved drawing skills. This is a practice you can always learn from, which can help keep your sketching skills flexible. You can think of this as a warm up, analogous to stretching before running.
Materials
• paper
• pencil
• a good flat surface
• a comfortable place to sit
• a story teller
• a story
• at least one person to act as the drawer (several are even better)
