GLOSSARY: CONSULTING TERMINOLOGY
Associate. Associates at the Boston Consulting Group are generally hired directly after finishing their undergraduate degrees at top colleges and universities. They do analysis, modeling, interviews, and client support. After two to three years at the firm, associates typically leave to explore other opportunities or go to graduate school. BCG often sponsors associates who agree to return to the firm for a set number of years after finishing their graduate degrees.
Billing. BCG bills clients by the week. BCG and the client negotiate the price and timeline of the project as well as the composition of the team and their deliverables.
