The spatial properties of wireless communication channels are extremely important in determining the performance of smart antenna systems. In this chapter a range of spatial channel models are presented that have been developed to characterize the particular features of the radio channel that impact spatial processing receivers.
Classical channel models provide information on signal power level distributions and Doppler shifts of received signals.
