Chapter 13. Implementing Data Mining Structures

In this chapter, we implement the Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) life cycle to design, develop, build, and deploy data mining structures and models using the tools provided in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services (SSAS). We focus on using the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) to create mining structures and models. After we create a model or two, we explore the functionality built into BIDS to validate and query those models, take a look at the Data Mining Extensions (DMX) language, and review data mining integration with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration Services (SSIS).
