Chapter 3. Automatic Application Updates

THE LAST CHAPTER covered everything that goes on when you perform an initial deployment of an application to users through ClickOnce. It covered what you need to do in Visual Studio to publish your application with ClickOnce, what happens on the deployment server during the publishing process and how it varies depending on the publishing options you select, and the end user’s experience on the client machines when they first launch the application through a deployment manifest link. This chapter focuses on updates—subsequent deployments of updated versions of the application to users.
