Abstract
Private industries and governments are accelerating the adoption of, and promoting innovation for smart grid applications that can benefit smart cities. The investment in this technology is made in order to improve critical infrastructures related to power generation and distribution for smart energy systems, which would also enable customer cost savings through their efficient use of consuming devices by scheduling the appropriate time to use devices and when renewable energy, for example, is available which improve the efficiency of the power grid.
