Abstract
Energy monitoring for home appliances is an emerging requirement for better consumption and preservation of energy. Ample studies have focused on smart home applications through the Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Over 94 percent of automations are done on this smart home application worldwide. This mechanism extends an ample range of research spots to enhance smart home energy monitoring. Furthermore, the added intelligence to the smart home greatly reduces the burden of decision making and monitoring the home appliances based on various operating conditions. The Home appliance control makes life comfortable for everyone. By controlling the heating and cooling applications, 64% of the energy may be saved. Since these devices are connected to the centralized IoT controller, that is programmed to monitor the energy consumption and give periodic notifications on energy consumption. Also, any abrupt changes in energy consumption will be immediately notified and decision may be taken accordingly. Monitoring the energy consumption of home appliance is done with IoT based controllers and the sensors. A dedicated app is created to update the status of all the electrical items. End nodes are ...
