Advanced interfaces for resistive sensors

Alessandra Flammini, and Alessandro Depari     University of Brescia, Brescia, Italy

Abstract

Resistive sensors are among the most widespread devices in data acquisition systems. This is mainly due to the broad availability of sensors for different applications. Because of the simplicity of the sensing devices and the opportunity to implement simple and low-cost data readout systems, they are of considerable value when the focus is on the realization of smart sensors. In this chapter, traditional resistive sensor interface methods will be analyzed; more advanced techniques appropriate for specific applications, as well as targeting the effectiveness of the acquisition systems, will subsequently be explored. ...
