Covering the basics

Let’s start by getting some basic concepts straight. These form the foundations on which you will build an investment programme. While you may be familiar with some or all of them, it makes sense to cover the ground, because they are so important. Even if you feel that you are reasonably well versed in the basics, it is never a bad idea to refresh your thinking.
