Conclusions and future challenges

Abstract

In this chapter, we conclude the book with a summary of theories, techniques, and solutions reviewed in previous chapters. We also outline a few remaining challenges and exciting research directions for future research in the field of social sensing. We expect the interests in social sensing applications from different research communities (e.g., networked sensing, cyber-physical systems, cyber-human systems, data mining, machine learning, etc.) will keep on increasing and more fundamental and interesting research work will come out naturally.
