This chapter provides a brief introduction to a topic that is closely related to SCM: change request management (CRM). An effective and comprehensive change-management solution can be achieved only through the application of the appropriate tools and processes in both disciplines. This chapter introduces CRM and the software product ClearQuest, and discusses how ClearQuest extends the UCM model to support CRM.
