Chapter Eleven. Defect Repair Selection: Other Considerations
Priority is still the key driver for selecting and organizing defect repair activity. Typical priority drivers include the following:
• general team opinion, leading to a consensus on severity, priority, and the relationship to the Working View
• marketing department’s input on key features
• customer input on key needs
• QA’s initially assigned or negotiated priority and severity
• results of reprioritization in triage or CCB meetings
There are many other factors that should be included in your analysis and reasoning when prioritizing and scheduling defects, including the following:
1. reproducing the defect
2. overall level of difficulty
