When designing an embedded system, special care must be taken when you design the user interface. For simple devices, simple text, command buttons, and LEDs are adequate. For more complex systems, full graphical user interfaces and touch panels are required. User interface design focuses on the following key areas: (a) the design of interfaces between different software components, (b) the design of interfaces between the software and other nonhuman producers and consumers of information, and (c) the design of the interface between a human and the computer.
