Purpose of the Program
Ownership transfer is not an end in itself. The transfer is happening to serve a larger purpose. This purpose needs to be articulated. In the case of EuroT, the program was christened as a “transformation program.” This term embodied all of the different expectations of the exercise. From a team of 150 members across both geographies, we were coming down to about 60 members and perhaps in a single geography. This called for a different set of competencies to run the program. It would call for changes to the team structure, merging of responsibilities amongst teams, and even changes to day-to-day practices. This was a much larger paradigm than just knowledge transfer.
