“My project kickoff meeting is two days away. Why should I take the time to figure out a measurement architecture?”
That’s a perfectly legitimate question, for which there are two very practical answers:
1. You will not have time in the project to come up with new measures when the ones you hastily implement next week don’t give you the information you need.
2. If the data you collect misleads you into incorrect diagnoses and corrective actions, you will not have time in the project for mid-course corrections.
