Of all the attitudes that we carry into our activities on software development, the appreciation of our responsibility for quality is perhaps the most critical.
In this chapter, we explore some of the dimensions of quality, with the intent of reinforcing the notion that we have a vested interest in taking genuine ownership of the quality of our work.
I was working with a company to see whether there was any way we could improve their approach to quality control. We looked at samples of their specs, followed through with their test plans, test cases, and results. What I saw was a great example of great attitude in action.
