Chapter Eight. Communication
In team sports such as software development, the key to success is adequate communication. Peter Drucker once stated it is the recipient who communicates, and without the recipient, there cannot be any communication. If a tree falls in the forest to produce a specification that nobody reads, can a software system still be built?
In this chapter, we explore some of the critical mechanisms for successful communication, from being comfortable in your environment to active listening and feedback, as well as the need for trust across the group to facilitate the process of attaining common understanding.
