Global investments are showing mixed results based on value-chain activity and location, and expect to remain so in the short and medium term. Specifically, project development and deployment firms are attracting many investors and government support, while market conditions have damaged producers and research firms.

Investments remain strong across the globe, but a clear shift eastward is underway. Asia Pacific will soon dominate the investment landscape, particularly if China makes good on its promise to ramp up its installed capacity of renewables as planned. Europe is shrinking in importance, and the United States remains a key player but with much less certainty.
