dircmp — Directory Comparison

Synopsis

/usr/bin/dircmp [-ds][-w n] dir1 dir2
					

Description

The dircmp command compares the contents of two directory structures. It reports on the files from only one directory and uses the cmp command to compare the files that appear in both directories. If you want the output to be generated in diff format, specify the -d option. If you specify no options, dircmp generates a list indicating whether the file names common to both directories have the same contents.

Options

-d Compare the contents of files with the same name in both directories and output a list telling what must be changed in the two files to bring them into agreement. The list format is described in diff(1).
