bsmconv, bsmunconv — Enable or Disable the Basic Security Module (BSM)
/etc/security/bsmconv [rootdir...] /etc/security/bsmunconv [rootdir...]
The basic security module (BSD) is Sun Microsystem's implementation of C2 security. It provides an auditing capability with self-contained audit records that contain all the relevant information about an event. For example, an audit record describing a file event contains the absolute path name and a time- and date-stamp of the opening or closing of the file.
BSD provides the following auditing features.
The audit ID assigned to a user's processes stays the same even when the user ID changes.
Each session has an audit session ID.
Full path names are saved in audit records.
