Chapter 7Prediction
Prediction begins with a vision of design goals and (hopefully) ends with a successfully optimized design. This is true whether it’s done with the help of CAD drawings and sophisticated software, a napkin and a protractor or a crystal ball and Tarot reader. Prediction allows us to investigate various scenarios without need of a rigging call. We select speaker models, locations, focus angles and perhaps even processor settings. The predicted design is installed and optimization begins.
