Many of the rules of source selection are there to protect the interests of the seller and go far beyond protections that would normally be found in private-sector buyer-seller relationships. One of these special perks is the furnishing of a detailed debriefing by the buyer when a seller requests it in a timely manner. Debriefings may be given to a competing contractor before a source selection is made or after a source selection is made, but a competing contractor is not entitled to both.
