Appendix A. Installing Eclipse
This appendix covers installing Eclipse on macOS and Windows. The installation process is similar on Linux.
Eclipse is a well-known development studio (aka an integrated development environment, or IDE) used for Java (and many other development languages). You probably have heard of Eclipse. If you are an Eclipse user, this appendix is not for you. This appendix is a five-minute tutorial on downloading, installing, and getting around in Eclipse.
In this book, I have used Eclipse Oxygen, as the support for Git and Maven have been greatly improved over the previous versions of Eclipse. If you already use Eclipse Oxygen, you will probably not learn anything here. If you are using another IDE, such as IntelliJ IDEA ...
