This appendix covers help and resources for installing relational databases that we use throughout this book. This appendix gives you hints about installing, procuring, and downloading relational databases you can use with Spark. Databases are listed alphabetically.
Every engineer and architect I’ve met has a bias for a particular database, often linked proportionally to the time worked with it and inversely proportionate to the number of issues that person had to deal with. Having said that, I worked a lot with Informix and had few issues with it, but I’ve also used a lot of other great databases throughout my career.
