Installing and Deleting Fonts

During the Windows installation process, Windows loads its standard suite of font files onto the system disk. Windows and your applications use these files as default fonts. You have the option of installing and deleting fonts from your system to change the look of your desktop environment, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, or for use by special application needs, such as CAD.

Caution

Be careful when deleting seemingly useless font sets. Deleting certain sets such as fixed, OEM, or system fonts may drastically alter the look and proportion of your Windows desktop and applications.
