Learning the Parts of the Windows Display

Windows computer screens display many graphical elements. Learning the names of these graphic elements or icons is important because you'll see these terms throughout this book. Likewise, you need to be familiar with these elements and icons because you can invoke a command for Windows or a Windows program by clicking the mouse pointer on many of them.

Figure 10.5 shows a Windows desktop that contains multiple applications, each in its own window. The figure identifies the parts of a typical Windows screen.
