Changing the Way a Folder's Contents Appear
Display options enable you to control how icons appear in an Explorer window. You can choose the size, arrangement, and order of icons, and you can also specify whether Explorer should show or hide system files. All of the options described in this section work the same in folder windows or in the right contents pane of Windows Explorer.

Windows enables you to choose from four different arrangements of icons when displaying the contents of a folder. Each view has advantages and disadvantages under different circumstances.
