Overview of Microsoft Fax

Microsoft Fax works within Microsoft Exchange's Universal Inbox to provide a convenient place to compose, attach, or embed documents, and address a fax. Exchange gives you several ways to create faxes. You can use the Compose New Fax Wizard to send a simple typed message or an attached file. (Yes, you can transfer computer files using Fax, as you'll find out later.) You can use the same New Message window that you use to compose email, or you can create your fax in another application and send or print it to the fax system. Your faxes can include text, pictures, OLE objects, and files. This richness of function is one of the key benefits of using the fax capabilities within Microsoft Exchange.
