Using the Windows Clipboard

The most basic way to exchange data from one source to another is to use the Windows 95 Clipboard, an area in memory that applications can access to share data. When you use the Clipboard, you cut or copy data to the Clipboard and then paste that data in your document.

Copying places a replica of the material that you selected in the Clipboard. Cutting removes the data from your document and places it in the Clipboard. Pasting places the data from the Clipboard into your document.
