Sharing Workstation Drives
In Chapter 34, "Simple Ways of Sharing Data Between Applications," you learned about enabling users to access files stored on network server drives. Setting up a workstation drive share is a bit different. Whereas a network is a public space, an individual's workstation may seem more like his or her "home."
To make this arrangement work successfully, peer-to-peer networking participants need to follow certain rules of etiquette. Remote users must leave things more or less the way they found them, and the host must keep anything not fit for public display behind closed doors. Establishing specific policies for the workgroup is the best way to ensure that standards are maintained.
