Logging onto an NT Network

When you configure Windows 95 to log onto an NT server, it displays a login screen each time you boot your computer. The choice of the primary client determines the type of network login screen. When Client for Microsoft Networks is installed, Primary Network Logon on the Configuration tab of the Control Panel's Network application offers two possible choices:

  • Client for Microsoft Networks. Your username and password are validated by domain controller (Windows NT Server 4.0).

  • Windows Logon. Your username and password aren't validated; but, Windows 95 uses both to open a password list (see "Working with the Password List," later in this chapter).
