Networks are designed to make office life easier. Peer-to-peer networks are supposed to eliminate something called the sneakernet, which is used when all computers in an office are stand-alone. Following are the steps involved in making a sneakernet connection:

1.	You decide that you want to edit a document on which several people have been collaborating.
2.	You visit each collaborator's computer, find the file in question, and record the date and time when the file was last modified. You're looking for the most recent version.
3.	When you find the computer that has the most up-to-date version of the document, find a formatted floppy disk, copy the file to the disk, and take the disk back to your computer.
