Copying Objects Within the Drawing
The Copy command duplicates an object or objects previously existing in the drawing. This command can be used to create a single copy or multiple copies of the objects selected. Let's examine using these options while dealing with complex selection sets.
Start the Copy command by selecting the Copy button from the Modify toolbar (see Figure 7.10), by choosing the Copy option from the Modify pull-down menu, or by simply typing CP at the command line and pressing Enter.

When the objects you want to copy have been selected, you have two options:
