Installing Active Directory (AD) can be a trivial process. Just go to the run command of any Windows 2000 Server, Advanced Server, or DataCenter Server, and type dcpromo.exe, answer a few questions, and you're on your way. Getting married this way is procedurally undemanding also. Both will yield about the same results. Poor or no planning results in a network design that is difficult to extend, modify, and support and does not take advantage of the hierarchical nature of Active Directory.
Installing Active Directory should be a reasoned exercise with about a 10:1 ratio of planning to action for a small company and orders of magnitude more planning for a medium- to large-size company. Although promoting and demoting Domain ...
